Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should education funding be directed to families through a voucher, scholarship, or education savings account so that parents can send their children to the school of their choice, including non-public schools? Y* Our education system needs completely revamped to allow school choice. Whether it be public school, private school, apprenticeships, trade school, vo-tech, homeschooling, it should be up to the parents to decide how their children should be educated. There is no one-size-fits-all way of teaching people the skills they need in their lives. School choice holds our educational institutions accountable, empowers our families, and results in better education for our children.
2. Should marijuana be legalized for recreational use? Y* The War on Drugs has been a complete failure not just for marijuana, but for all drugs. Our prisons are flooded with nonviolent drug offenders. Our resources are being wasted in dealing with victimless crimes instead of heinous crimes like murder and theft. If there is no victim, there is no crime.
3. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” which would require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? N
4. Should Pennsylvania enter into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which would include a new carbon tax on electricity producers? N* Let there be no confusion, this initiative is just another way for the state government to extort money out of taxpayers done in the name of the environment. Electricity producers would just push the tax burden onto the consumers, making us worse off and doing nothing to help the environment.
5. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y* Limiting government spending is good, but it is not enough. It needs drastically reduced, not increased. Pennsylvania does not have a funding problem, it has a spending problem.
6. Should our state constitution be amended to prevent taxpayer funding for elective abortions? Y* From a personal standpoint, I think abortion is wrong, but I don’t think there is any effective method to use the government to police it. That’s a recipe for disaster, a recipe for abuse. That being said, taxpayer dollars should not be spent on abortion as this would be a gateway to socialized healthcare.
7. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y
8. Should the state reduce police funding to increase funding for social services? U* Our police state needs to be reduced drastically, but private charity is a much more efficient and voluntary way to help those in need. I would rather see that money stay in people's community. A majority of the money that is allocated for government social services disappears into the bureaucracy.
9. Should public schools be prohibited from allowing males who identify as females to compete in girls’ sports? Y
10. Should schools have to post curriculum online for review by parents and taxpayers? Y* Public schools should be transparent in what they are teaching our children. Parents have the right to know. Incorporating school choice will allow parents to hold schools accountable by transferring their kids to another school in response to malicious curriculums.
11. Should Pennsylvania municipalities be permitted to require a vaccine passport? N* Vaccine passports and every mandate that came along with the coronavirus is a massive increase in the police state and an infringement of bodily autonomy. Creating a caste system for your constituents based on their medical information is immoral and should be fought relentlessly.
12. Should the gasoline tax be permanently reduced? Y* The gasoline tax needs to be abolished.
13. Should schools be required to notify parents of any sexually explicit content in books or instructional materials? Y* Public schools should be transparent in what they are teaching our children. Parents have the right to know. Incorporating school choice will allow parents to hold schools accountable by transferring their kids to another school in response to malicious curriculums.
