Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should education funding be directed to families through a voucher, scholarship, or education savings account so that parents can send their children to the school of their choice, including non-public schools? Y* Our children attend a great public school, but not all citizens have that option. Public schools play an important role in education and children should not be forced to attend and underperforming school. They should have the opportunity to attend a faith based school, charter, magnet, home school or a cyber. There is a large need to revise cyber charter reimbursements and charges associated for kids with IEPs.
2. Should marijuana be legalized for recreational use? N
3. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” which would require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? N
4. Should Pennsylvania enter into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which would include a new carbon tax on electricity producers? N* RGGI is terrible for PA energy and RGGI imposed SOLELY by the Governor is an overreach of executive authority.
5. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y* We should vote and pass the Tax Payer Protection Act.
6. Should our state constitution be amended to prevent taxpayer funding for elective abortions? Y
7. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* It should be Easy to Vote and Hard to Cheat!
8. Should the state reduce police funding to increase funding for social services? N
9. Should public schools be prohibited from allowing males who identify as females to compete in girls’ sports? Y
10. Should schools have to post curriculum online for review by parents and taxpayers? Y
11. Should Pennsylvania municipalities be permitted to require a vaccine passport? Y
12. Should the gasoline tax be permanently reduced? Y* State Police funding should be removed from the gas tax and moved into the budget as its own line item.
13. Should schools be required to notify parents of any sexually explicit content in books or instructional materials? U* Elementary & Middle Schools should not have graphic sexual content in there books at all- even if in cartoon form. It could be extremely difficult to monitor notification of sexual content for all books in a high school library. Particularly when many schools share a massive inventory of books through a linked internet-like book sharing program.
