1. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* Absolutely, I can't fathom why someone would be against making a voter prove their genuine identity, especially with all the ways that a simple, cost-free ID could easily be provided for any valid Pennsylvania voter. Requiring voters to show a valid ID simply to verify their identity in order to cast a vote is one of the simplest ways to promote voting integrity. Latest polls show that 83% of all PA voters support it - this needs to be done.
2. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," which could require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? N* Women and girls shouldn't be forced to give up their safety and/or privacy.
3. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? N* Statistics prove that recreational legalization is associated with increased traffic fatalities, and there are no valid tests that our law enforcement can use to adequately enforce marijuana DUI. And I firmly believe that any tax revenue that might come from this move will be far outweighed by the negative societal costs on families, workplaces, and communities.
4. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y* Any measure that helps to stop Pennsylvania's skyrocketing state spending needs to be considered.
5. Should Pennsylvania make cuts to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) student scholarship program? N* Parents should have the option to access the educational setting that best serves the needs of their children. The EITC is Pennsylvania's most successful school choice program that helps parents have any measure of that access.
