My medical background, doctoral training, and business experience have provided me with a multi-dimensional skill set that helps me in everything I do, from running my East Indian Boutique business to organizing numerous community cultural events through the nonprofit organization I founded, teaching as faculty at HACC, PennState, and other institutions. My strengths include teaching, public speaking, presenting scientific material to a diverse audience, being organized, proficient with numerous Microsoft programs, providing excellent customer service, networking with other businesses, organizations, being active on numerous social media sites, presenting and teaching complex scientific material in a really simple to understand method. My passion is to make everyone I encounter feel like they belong, and they matter. If they are my customers at my boutique trying on Indian outfits for the first time, I take the time to help them get the basic cultural background and knowledge about the various Indian attires and the traditions they embody. I help them find something that meets their expectations, their budget, and their comfort. With my students, my rule is "there is no such thing as a silly question". The classroom is a place to learn; this is the place to ask questions. In the community, I have been invited by numerous organizations as a guest speaker to share my cultural background, or my experiences adapting as a professional immigrant and a single parent in the USA. I have worked with numerous schools to organize multi-cultural educational events for students. What I love most is how much I learn every day with every encounter. I truly believe that we are all unique, we are all equal. Our diversity enriches and strengthens us.

I am running for State Representative of Pennsylvania’s 106th Legislative District because I believe government should work for the people it represents, not special interests. As a mother, medical doctor, educator, immigrant, and small business owner, I bring real-life experiences and a unique perspective to the challenges facing our communities. I understand the struggles of working families dealing with rising costs, access to affordable healthcare, quality education, and concerns about the safety and future of their children. My priorities include making life more affordable, protecting reproductive freedom, addressing gun violence as a public health issue, safeguarding our environment, protecting voting and civil rights, and ensuring responsible development that puts communities first. I believe leadership begins with listening, accountability, compassion, and a willingness to work across political differences to find meaningful solutions. I am not running to serve a political party or special interests. I am running to serve the people of the 106th District, ensure their voices are heard in Harrisburg, and help build a safer, healthier, and more affordable future for our families and the next generation.
