| 1. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? | Y* | Voting should be easy to do and hard to cheat. The most basic and important task of government is to secure God-given rights. When one fraudulent vote is cast, an American citizen is deprived of one of these rights. The latest news that New Jersey registered thousands of noncitizens to vote is appalling. Pennsylvania can and must strengthen our election security by implementing voter ID. At the same time, we can make sure our citizens have access to the documentation required for these things free of cost. States like Georgia have successfully implemented this. Let's do the same. |
| 2. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," which could require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? | N* | 80% of the people of Pennsylvania believe that biological males shouldn't be participating in girl's and women's sports. Sports should be based on biology, not gender, and Title IX should be preserved. Since 2020, almost 350 biological males have robbed girls and woman of athletic opportunities in PA. Every single instance is an atrocity: dreams crushed and years of hard work gone to waste. As the prime sponsor of the Protect Women's Sports Act, I have and will continue to fight for the rights of our girls and women. |
| 3. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? | N* | I am deeply concerned about the impacts we have seen in states that have opened the floodgates to this - skyrocketing vehicular fatalities, child overdoses, and mental health diagnoses through the roof. Our communities are already often overwhelmed by drugs. We shouldn't be introducing new ones. |
| 4. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? | Y* | State spending has ballooned from $29 billion in 2015 to over $50 billion this year, outpacing inflation and tax revenue. Simultaneously, we face a $6+ billion structural deficit. Harrisburg has failed our next generation by setting them up for a record breaking future tax increase. It's an even worse affordability crisis in the making. I am a supporter of the Taxpayer Protection Act, which would limit spending to personal income, inflation, and population growth. It requires 75% of excess revenue to be returned to taxpayers. Our budget process too often becomes political and wasteful. I support a two-year budget model to cool tensions. I also am a sponsor of no budget, no pay - blocking politician paychecks during budget stalemates. |
| 5. Should Pennsylvania make cuts to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) student scholarship program? | N* | Absolutely not. EITC has rescued thousands of children in Pennsylvania from failing schools and given them the ability to succeed. I personally know multiple instances of this happening in our district in Cumberland County alone. Setting up our next generation for success and fulfillment in life should be the sole goal of our education system. I will always support students over systems. EITC is a program that does this. |
