1. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* We should maintain the long?standing, proven safe and effective voter?verification measures already in place. These require an individual to show identification the first time they vote after a new registration or a change to their registration, followed by signature matching at every subsequent election. I do not support implementing a national voter ID requirement for every election, because the administrative and financial burdens needed to enforce such a system would effectively function as a poll tax, which is unconstitutional.
2. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," which could require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? Y
3. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? Y* Marijuana reform is essential not only for strengthening the state’s fiscal outlook, but also for acknowledging the plant’s medicinal value and advancing remedial justice for communities disproportionately harmed by decades of over?policing and criminalization.
4. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? N* I oppose mandated spending caps that can hinder debate and legislation on budget matters.
