Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? N* Our elections are run by local community members whose mission is to get to know voters in their neighborhoods. We've never required ID before because those workers show up year after year and make it a priority to know their neighbors and uphold a sacred duty to ensure everyone is able to freely cast their votes.
2. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," which could require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? Y* Privacy and dignity should always be available no matter the sex assignment. A person should be able to use the bathroom that best suits their gender identity. Statistics show that these individuals are not predators but humans looking for basic respects.
3. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? Y* We could increase funding for social services by taxing recreational marijuana use. We could improve roads, senior care, transportation and help make up some of the state budget deficit.
4. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? N* No, this formula maintains our current status quo. We need a system that responds to demographic shifts and emergency management.
5. Should Pennsylvania make cuts to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) student scholarship program? N* No, it's an already underfunded program that gives kids access to either private schools or public school innovation programs.
