Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should education funding be directed to families through a voucher, scholarship, or education savings account so that parents can send their children to the school of their choice, including non-public schools? Y* Parents know best for their children, and no child's level of education should be determined by a zip code. I will support legislation for school choice and support the rights of parents to send their children to non-public schools.
2. Should marijuana be legalized for recreational use? N* I oppose legalizing marijuana for recreational use. While multiple generations of families are already struggling with the impacts of drug use and addiction, it would be detrimental to society to legalize marijuana for recreational use.
3. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” which would require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? N
4. Should Pennsylvania enter into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which would include a new carbon tax on electricity producers? N* Amid the largest inflation rates America has seen in four decades, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) will make energy costs skyrocket at a rate consumers and businesses simply cannot afford. RGGI would result in immediate job losses and price increases with a negligible environmental benefit. I strongly oppose entering into RGGI.
5. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y* Government should always spend within its means. As a Township Commissioner, I worked to pass balanced, on-time budgets with no tax increase every year I served. Our next generation cannot afford runaway governmental spending, and it would be irresponsible to ask our children to foot the bill for a spending problem.
6. Should our state constitution be amended to prevent taxpayer funding for elective abortions? Y* I do not believe taxpayer dollars should be used to fund elective abortions in any circumstance.
7. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* Our elections must be free, fair, and secure. The best way to achieve these goals is to require voters show identification prior to voting. I am a strong supporter of Voter ID laws and would support such legislation.
8. Should the state reduce police funding to increase funding for social services? N* I recognize the important role our police play in protecting our community and keeping our schools and neighborhoods safe. As a nation of laws, it is imperative to support those charged with enforcing them. I am a proud supporter of our police and am proud to have a 100% pro-police voting record as a Township Commissioner. I will continue to stand with our law enforcement as a State Representative.
9. Should public schools be prohibited from allowing males who identify as females to compete in girls’ sports? Y
10. Should schools have to post curriculum online for review by parents and taxpayers? Y* Transparency is one of the basic tenets of good government--including schools. I support curriculum transparency because public schools exist to educate and not indoctrinate our youth. Parents play a vital role in the development of our next generation and in instilling a set of values in them. Curriculum transparency is an imperative first step to ensuring schools are sticking to appropriate subjects and leaving biases and inappropriate discussions outside the schoolhouse doors.
11. Should Pennsylvania municipalities be permitted to require a vaccine passport? N
12. Should the gasoline tax be permanently reduced? Y
13. Should schools be required to notify parents of any sexually explicit content in books or instructional materials?
