Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Providing state tax credits and education savings accounts to enable parents to choose what school their child attends. S* The money should follow the student, not the other way around. However, I will do my best to make public schools better first and foremost.
2. Reserving girls’ sports exclusively for biological females. S* This is a no brainer! Title IX was designed to protect girls sports and to provide equal opportunities for their success and participation.
3. Separating restrooms, locker rooms, and other privacy areas based on biological sex. S* Again, a no brainer! I can't believe this is even an issue we're discussing or considering nowadays.
4. Permitting students to discuss their Christian faith with others during non-class time on school premises. S* They already have a Constitutional right to do this. Teachers and administration should not be endorsing or encouraging any particular religion during school hours. Students can defend their Christian faith in class, as well.
5. Allowing school personnel to refer students to abortion providers. O* Not without parental notifications and consent! Preferably, not at all. All life should be valued. Good choices should be encouraged.
6. Requiring signed permission (opt-in) from a parent before a student may participate in sex education classes. U* I feel parents should review the health course curriculum prior to or at the start of class, and make decisions accordingly.
7. Increasing transparency by requiring videos or documents shown to students be preserved for easy review by administrators and parents. S
8. Providing curricula that advocates critical race theory and its emphasis on defining people as oppressors or oppressed based on group identity or privileges. O
9. Requiring teachers to use "she" to describe a biological male student who identifies as a female, even if the teacher offered a reasonable alternative. O* Teachers should not be forced to use pronouns which violate their conscience. The use of last names or other alternatives should be an option.
10. Specifying in school policy that materials containing visual depictions of people engaging in sex acts or explicit written descriptions of people engaging in sex acts is not age-appropriate for the school’s curriculum and libraries. S
