Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* Public trust in elections is the foundation of democracy. We should ensure that every eligible voter can cast one secure ballot and that every legitimate vote is counted promptly and accurately. Pennsylvania can strengthen confidence in our elections through transparency, voter ID, and consistent standards. We need to get back to a more secure and clearly defined system of absentee ballots and move away from unrestricted mail-in voting. Why would anyone want to perpetuate a system that encourages cheating?
2. Should public schools allow males who identify as females to compete in girls’ sports? N* I support fairness and safety matter in women’s sports. Female athletes deserve a level playing field and access to private, respectful facilities. Protecting the integrity of women’s sports ensures equal opportunity for girls and women to compete and succeed.
3. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? −
4. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y* Pennsylvanians deserve to keep more of what they earn. Whether working, running a small business, or living on retirement income, lower taxes strengthen families and fuel economic growth. Responsible budgeting that controls spending and protects essential services keeps Pennsylvania competitive without overburdening taxpayers.
5. Should Pennsylvania create a Lifeline Scholarship Program to provide scholarships to students in low-income households in the lowest-performing schools? U* Every child is unique, and parents know their children best. My own path—from struggling with reading to earning advanced degrees—was possible because my parents sought the right support. Too many families are trapped in underperforming schools. We must partner with parents and expand access to quality education through public, private, and hybrid options so families can choose what works best. I would need to see that a specific proposal accomplishes these ends without adding new tax burdens.
